How streaming cancellations work

Most streaming services allow online cancellation - but many require you to cancel through the platform that billed you, not directly through the service. If you subscribed through Apple, the cancellation is in your iPhone Settings. Through Google Play, it's in the Play Store. Through Amazon, it's in Memberships & Subscriptions. Check where your card is being charged before starting.

Frequently asked questions

Do streaming services refund unused time?
Almost none do. Netflix, Hulu, Max, Peacock, Paramount+, and Spotify all keep your paid time running after cancellation with no prorated refund. Amazon Prime is the main exception - it offers refunds if you cancel within 3 days with no benefits used.
How do I cancel multiple streaming services at once?
If you subscribed through Apple, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions - this shows all Apple-billed subscriptions in one place. For Android, Google Play → Subscriptions. For Amazon, check Memberships & Subscriptions. This is the fastest way to audit and cancel multiple services.
