An unrecognized charge is usually a subscription, a recurring service billed under a cryptic descriptor, or a purchase processed by a payment platform like PayPal, Square, or Stripe. Billing descriptors often abbreviate the company name (for example, VZWRLSS for Verizon Wireless or NFLX for Netflix), which is why they are hard to recognize. Paste the exact text into the lookup tool above to identify the company.
Copy the billing descriptor exactly as it appears on your statement and enter it in the charge lookup tool. Common descriptors are matched instantly; unusual ones are decoded automatically. You can also check your bank app for a merchant name, search the descriptor online, or call the number listed next to the charge.
VZWRLSS is Verizon Wireless. AMZN is Amazon (Prime, Kindle, or a marketplace order). APPLE.COM/BILL covers Apple subscriptions like iCloud+, Apple Music, or App Store purchases. GOOGL *SVCS is Google services such as Google One or YouTube Premium. These abbreviations appear because card networks shorten merchant names.
First identify the merchant using the lookup tool, then cancel directly with that company. If you cannot identify it or the company will not stop billing, you can generate a dispute letter to send to your bank or file a chargeback through your card issuer.
