Evernote free plan limits after canceling
Evernote's free plan (called Evernote Free) limits you to 1 notebook synced across a maximum of 2 devices, with 60MB of monthly upload space and a 25MB note size limit. If your account has more notebooks or exceeds these limits, older notes become read-only rather than deleted. You can still access everything - you just can't add new notebooks or upload beyond the limits without a paid plan.
Evernote alternatives worth considering
If you're leaving Evernote for cost reasons, Notion offers a generous free plan with unlimited pages. Apple Notes is free and deeply integrated with iOS and macOS. Obsidian is free for personal use with local markdown storage. OneNote (Microsoft) is free with a Microsoft account. Evernote's ENEX export format is supported by several of these alternatives for easy migration.
