Adobe Stock ETF - when it applies
The 50% ETF applies only to annual plans billed monthly. If you paid for the full year upfront (annual prepaid), there is no ETF - you just lose access at the end of the prepaid period. Month-to-month plans also have no ETF. The safest time to cancel is at the 12-month mark when your annual commitment ends and the account auto-renews - you can cancel the renewal without an ETF.
What happens to licensed images after canceling?
Images you've already downloaded and licensed remain yours for the agreed licensed use - you don't lose rights to images you've legitimately downloaded. Unused monthly credits (undownloaded images from your monthly allotment) expire. Comp (trial/watermarked) images must be replaced with licensed versions or removed.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Adobe Stock have an early termination fee?
- Yes. Annual plans paid monthly carry a 50% ETF on remaining payments. Annual plans prepaid in full and month-to-month plans have no ETF.
- Do I lose my downloaded Adobe Stock images when I cancel?
- No. Already-licensed images remain usable under their original license terms. Unused monthly credits expire.
- Is Adobe Stock separate from Creative Cloud?
- Yes. Adobe Stock is a separate subscription from Creative Cloud. Canceling one does not affect the other.
- Adobe won't let me cancel without updating my payment method - what do I do?
- Skip the website self-service flow, which is what forces the payment update, and use Adobe's live chat instead. A chat agent can cancel from their end without a valid card on file. Tell them you want to cancel immediately and are not updating payment, and ask for written email confirmation. If a charge already went through against a blocked account, dispute it with your bank and keep the cancellation confirmation, since an unpaid balance can go to collections.
