SiriusXM in a new or used car
Many new and used cars come with a complimentary SiriusXM trial. When the trial ends, SiriusXM begins billing automatically if you provided payment information during activation. If you never intended to subscribe, use the online cancellation at siriusxm.com/cancel or call to cancel and dispute any charges that occurred without your explicit consent.
Transferring SiriusXM to a new vehicle
If you're canceling because you sold your car, you can transfer your SiriusXM subscription to a new vehicle rather than canceling and resubscribing. Call customer service with your new vehicle's radio ID (shown on the SiriusXM screen when no subscription is active) to transfer without interruption.
Frequently asked questions
- Why does SiriusXM keep billing after I canceled?
- This happens when a cancellation wasn't fully processed or when a "pause" was applied instead of a full cancellation. If you have a confirmation number, dispute the charges with your bank citing the cancellation date. If you don't have a confirmation number, call again and request cancellation with a confirmation number this time.
- Can I cancel SiriusXM mid-month and get a refund?
- SiriusXM generally does not issue prorated refunds for mid-period cancellations. Your service continues until the end of your paid period.
- What is SiriusXM's "listener care" transfer?
- During cancellation calls, SiriusXM often transfers you to a "listener care" or "retention" specialist who will make additional offers. This is a normal part of their process - continue to repeat your cancellation request and ask for a confirmation number.
