What happens to my therapy sessions after canceling?
BetterHelp operates on a weekly subscription. When you cancel, any unused sessions from your current subscription period may be lost - BetterHelp does not carry sessions forward or issue refunds for unused time. For maximum value, cancel right after your renewal date rather than before it.
Privacy: what happens to my therapy data?
BetterHelp retains your account data including session notes and messages after cancellation. You can request data deletion by emailing contact@betterhelp.com. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar laws, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data.
Can I switch therapists instead of canceling?
