Preply vs Cambly vs iTalki

All three connect students with live language tutors: Preply and iTalki let you book specific tutors by profile; Cambly connects you instantly with available tutors for casual conversation practice. Preply has a subscription model; iTalki and Cambly are primarily pay-per-lesson. If you're canceling Preply due to cost, iTalki often has lower per-lesson prices for similar tutor quality.

What happens to scheduled lessons when you cancel

Any lessons already scheduled before your cancellation remain booked and will occur normally. Canceling your subscription only stops future billing - it doesn't cancel existing appointments. Cancel or reschedule individual upcoming lessons separately if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my tutor matches if I cancel Preply?
No. Your tutor relationships and conversation history remain in your account. If you resubscribe, you can book the same tutors again.
Can I get a refund on Preply lesson credits?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase for unused credits. Contact support@preply.com. After 30 days, credits are non-refundable but remain usable until they expire.
What is the difference between Preply subscription and pay-per-lesson?
Preply subscription gives you a set number of lessons per month at a discounted per-lesson rate. Pay-per-lesson (credit packs) charges per lesson with no commitment. Subscriptions save money if you take consistent lessons; credits are better for occasional use.
