What happens after you cancel Apple News+

Your Apple News+ access continues through the end of the current billing period - Apple does not give prorated refunds. After expiration, the News app still works but only shows free articles.

Charged the same day you canceled?

If you were billed immediately before canceling, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com within 90 days. Apple grants these for prompt cancellation requests, especially if you haven't used the service that cycle.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel Apple News+ inside the News app?
No. Apple requires all subscription management to go through Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. You cannot cancel from within the News app itself.
Does canceling Apple News+ cancel Apple One?
Only if Apple News+ is the only service in your Apple One bundle. If you have Apple One, manage it as a bundle - canceling individual components isn't available; you'd need to downgrade the bundle tier.
Is there a free trial for Apple News+?
Apple periodically offers 1-month free trials, often bundled with new device purchases. Cancel before the trial ends at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Settings to avoid being charged.
